Don’t underestimate a value of joyful mini breaks.

Yesterday at the end of the yoga class, Jane our yoga instructor shared this thought: “Never miss an opportunity to dance to the sound of your favourite song! In this world of uncertainty, we often deprive ourselves of moments of happiness and joy, believing that we should ‘do them later’. Dance! Feel refreshed and then get back to the task you were doing feeling a bit happier and a bit more energised.” Well, I think it’s a wonderful thought.

Often we underestimate the positive effects of small breaks. You can experiment with many different mini breaks: a cup of tea, a dance, or a mindfulness exercise. Small breaks throughout the day can increase productivity. In fact, if you would like to have a productive day at work, make sure that you have enough breaks. Go outside. Head off on a walk. As much as possible don’t eat at your desk, don’t have a break using your mobile phone and don’t continue talking about work.

In this busy and stressful world give yourself a chance to be joyful by doing activities that make you smile and momentarily forget your usual stresses and daily demands.
